FABRIC & FIT
The fit starts with the right questions.
Choose the garment first, then use its chart. Record a separate size for every piece, keep youth and adult groups clear, and measure with the method the selected style requires.
01 / THE FABRICAsk what you will wear.
Composition tells you what the textile is made from. Construction describes how it is knitted or woven. Weight, drape and stretch affect its feel and the way the uniform sits on the body.
GSM means grams per square meter: a way to describe fabric weight, rather than a rating of quality. A heavier textile is not automatically the right choice for every game or garment.
02 / THE GARMENTFit is part of the brief.
Talk about jersey and bottom length, closer or relaxed fit, and equipment worn underneath. A tackle-football jersey needs a discussion about shoulder pads; a sleeveless 7v7 top has a different fit brief.
Ask for the selected garment’s composition, fabric weight and relevant stretch information. Any performance benefit should describe that actual material.
03 / THE SIZE CATEGORYOne player. Separate sizes.
Keep a jersey size and a bottom size in separate roster fields. Give every additional layer its own field too. A familiar size label is a starting reference, not a substitute for the chosen chart.
Identify the youth or adult category and any other required fit category. Review which patterns are available before choosing the final sizes.
